Terms of Service

These terms set out the rights, obligations, responsibilities and conditions of use between ethan (the “Operator”) and users of Chimmelier (https://chimmelier.org, the “Service”).

The Service provides the following features free of charge:

• Browsing and searching menus, prices and new items of Korean fried chicken brands
• Menu reviews, menu likes, favorite brands, up/down votes on reviews, and notifications
• A community board with posts, comments, votes and reports
• Foreign-language versions (English at chimmelier.org/en, Japanese at chimmelier.org/ja) with screens and menu information translated into English and Japanese for international users

The Service is an unofficial service that is not affiliated with any chicken brand. Menu information is collected automatically from what each brand publishes on its official website. Prices are suggested retail prices and may differ from actual store or delivery-app prices, and changes may take some time to appear. Please check the brand’s official channels before ordering.

Brand and menu names and descriptions on the foreign-language (English and Japanese) versions are machine (AI) translations of the Korean originals and may be inaccurate or awkward. When ordering, rely on the Korean name shown alongside. Reviews, posts and comments written by members are shown as written, without translation.

Brand names, logos and menu photos belong to their respective brands. The Service only points to the original sources and will take them down without delay at the right holder’s request.

1. You can browse menus and read community posts without logging in.
2. Writing reviews, likes, favorites and community posts require logging in with a Naver or Kakao account. When you log in for the first time, you are deemed to have agreed to these terms and the Privacy Policy and to have become a member.
3. Children under 14 cannot become members.
4. Your account is for your own use only and may not be lent or transferred to anyone else.

The following rules apply to reviews, photos, community posts and comments (“Posts”) you upload.

• You can write one menu review per day, with up to 3 photos.
• You can write one community post per day, with up to 5 images (10 MB or less each). Large images are resized so the long side is 1920 px, and extra information in photos such as location (EXIF) is removed.
• Deleting a post does not give you back that day’s posting chance.
• There is no limit on the number of comments, but you need to wait a moment between consecutive comments.
• You cannot vote on your own reviews or posts.

Members must not:

• post advertising, promotions or spam, or repeat the same content
• use abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or hateful language, or harass others
• post obscene or offensive content, or illegal information
• post other people’s personal information (contacts, addresses, face photos, etc.) without consent
• post other people’s works (photos, text) without permission
• try to harm a brand or store with false information
• create multiple accounts or use automated tools to get around daily limits or manipulate votes
• interfere with the operation of the Service or threaten its security

1. Members can report posts and comments that break the rules by choosing a reason. Each item can be reported once.
2. Items with a certain number of reports (currently 5) are hidden automatically until the Operator reviews them. Hidden posts remain visible to their author only.
3. The Operator may hide or delete Posts that violate Article 5 without notice, and may restrict members who violate the rules repeatedly or seriously.
4. If you disagree with a hide or delete decision, contact us at the address in Article 11 and the Operator will review it again.

1. Copyright in a Post belongs to the member who wrote it.
2. You allow the Operator to display your Posts within the Service and use them free of charge to the extent necessary, such as resizing them to fit the screen. This permission ends when you delete the Post (except for the retention described in Article 9).
3. The Operator does not use members’ Posts outside the Service (for example in advertising).

1. Menu and price information and its foreign-language (English and Japanese) translations are collected from public sources and machine-translated for reference only. The Operator is not liable for damages caused by outdated or incorrect information or inaccurate translations, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
2. Members are responsible for the content of the Posts they upload.
3. The Operator may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, failures, natural disasters and the like, and will announce it in advance in Notices where possible.

1. You can delete your account at any time on the “My account” page. If you cannot use the page, you can also ask at the address in Article 11.
2. When you delete your account, your profile photo, reviews and photos, community posts (including ones you deleted), comments, images, likes, favorites and notifications are all deleted without delay and cannot be restored. Other members’ comments on your posts are deleted as well.
3. Community posts and comments you delete disappear from the screens immediately, but are kept visible to the Operator only for handling reports and disputes, and are deleted when you delete your account.

The Operator may change these terms within the limits of applicable law. Changes will be announced in Notices at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to members). If you do not agree with the changed terms, you can delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be resolved by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. This English version is a translation for convenience; if it differs from the Korean original, the Korean version prevails.

These terms take effect on October 15, 2026.
